January 1- Tuesday. Started out the New Year with a lovely day. Mr. Walker, another man, and Elmer H. were here. They moved the horses. Will seem lonesome now.

January 2- Wednesday. Nice day. We washed today. Dad and C. went to town. I had the headache all day. Some men from Colo. were here.

January 3- Thursday. Nice day. We ironed today. Daddy put some feed in the barn. Didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. Took a bath this eve.

January 4- Friday. Windy and dusty day. I washed some clothes today. Elmer H. and another fellow and Paul Payton were here. Played dominoes this eve.

January 5- Saturday. Nice day. Paul P. .came over and helped butcher our pig. I cleaned up house some and ironed. Made a pie for dinner.

January 6- Sunday. Beautiful day. Cleaned up and got dinner. Stewart Bowker and Pearces were here today. Today was the nicest day so far this year.

January 7- Monday. Rainy today. Rained about 1/2 inch. I cleaned up in my bedroom. Sewed on quilt blocks this evening. Wrote a letter to Dorothy James.

January 8- Tuesday. Nice day. I cleaned up 2 bedrooms today. Sewed some this eve. Paul P. was here. Clarence caught a coyote. Mamma ground sausage.

January 9- Wednesday. Fairly nice day. Daddy helped Hamons butcher. I quilted a lot today. The radio program was good tonite. I got a card from Mary Ruth.

January 10- Thursday. Nice day. We washed today. Mom baked cookies. Dad helped Mr. Tuttle. I baked biscuits for supper. Quilted some today.

January 11- Friday. Cloudy today. Mamma baked bread. I sewed a little and wrote to Louise. Got a letter from K. B. Dad helped Mr. Tuttle this morn. Mr. Lucus was here.

January 12- Saturday. Windy today. My twentieth birthday. Ironed today. Also baked a cake. Didn’t get the mail today. Radio program pretty good tonight.

January 13- Sunday. Cold and cloudy today. Elmer Hennigh was here today. We heard Church services over the radio this morning.

January 14- Monday. Cloudy and cold today. Didn’t do anything today only read some etc. Mamma got a letter from Delma. I wrote a letter today.

January 15- Tuesday. Cloudy and rather cool. Dad put some feed into the barn. I made a pie for dinner. Lennie and I took a walk this afternoon. Didn’t get any mail.

January 16- Wednesday. Cold, dusty and windy. Didn’t do anything much as was too dirty. John Fisher was here. The radio program was real good tonight.

January 17- Thursday. Cold day. Dad and Clarence went to town. We washed. My head and eyes hurt all day.

January 18- Friday. Not a bad day. Sort of dusty. We ironed and I made some doughnuts. Took a walk this afternoon.

January 19- Saturday. Pretty cold today. Tried to snow. We cleaned up the house some this afternoon. Took a bath and washed my hair this eve.

January 20- Sunday. Awful cold day. We didn’t do anything as was too cold. Down below zero.

January 21- Monday. Some warmer today. Made ice cream. Some cattle buyers came and bought 4 cows for $100. We played dominoes tonight.

January 22- Tuesday. Nice day. Wind is blowing tonite. I sewed some on my flower garden quilt. The census man was here this afternoon.

January 23- Wednesday. Cold today. The men came and got the cows. I made some cookies today. Mr. Welsh called this eve. Heard ‘One Man’s Family.’

January 24- Thursday. Lovely day. I washed today. Made out an order. Slept some this afternoon. Sewed a little. We played dominoes this eve.

January 25- Friday. Lovely day. We ironed today. Was outdoors some. Sewed a little. Radio was pretty good tonight. Surely was a beautiful day.

January 26- Saturday. Beautiful day. Dad and C. went to town. I cleaned up the house and bathed. Sewed some this eve. Got a card from Luella and one from Mrs. Poole.

January 27- Sunday. Rather cold today. I felt bum all day. Melvin H. was here after his truck but didn’t get it. I slept a lot this afternoon.

January 28- Monday. Nice day. I quilted most all day. Some folks from Colo. were here inquiring the way to Hennigh. They had a horse with them.

January 29- Tuesday. Pretty nice day. I cleaned up the house and made some doughnuts. Also worked some tea towels. Fred K. was here. Got the order and a letter from Louise and from Grandma Valentine.

January 30- Wednesday. Nice day. I embroidered 2 dish towels. Wrote to Grandma. The Kepley boys were here. The radio program was good tonight. Heard the President talk.

January 31- Thursday. Fairly nice day. We washed today. Dad and C. went to a rabbit drive up north. A junk man was here today. Am rather tired tonight.
